Netscape. RIP. AOL, the owners of Netscape, have stated that from 1st March 2008, they will no longer be supporting the browser. Netscape was used by about 90% of web users in the mid-1990s. That market share has dropped to a lowly 0.6% since then. This has been due to the push of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, which is supplied free with Windows, and the rise of other browsers such as Opera, Firefox, Safari and Flock.
