As if it wasn’t enough that Microsoft’s Vista operating system literally sucks up all your computer’s resources, making it grind to a halt, Microsoft’s forthcoming Service Pack will break your computer even more.

After the installation of Service Pack 1 for Vista, many programs will no longer work, or will work with degraded functionality.

What’s worse is that most of the programs affected are security programs, such as Antivirus and Firewall software.

Microsoft have published a list of the affected programs, but they say that it’s not comprehensive, so there could be thousands more programs affected by this change.

Microsoft also had an update planned that must be installed before Service Pack 1 is applied. However, they have discovered that on some systems, applying the update puts the PC into an endless update loop.

Vista has been a long time coming, and it looks as if it’s still going to be a long time before it’s really stable.

Personally, if I was going to buy a new PC, I’d insist on XP Pro being installed instead of Vista, and I’d recommend anyone else to do the same.

Vista simply isn’t up to the job as an operating sytem.
And now Microsoft have broken it even more.
